India Vs England 4th Test Day 2: Balanced Day With England Leading By 99 Runs With Umesh Takes 3!

The day two of the fourth test match went neutral as both teams somehow dominated the three sessions. India after getting all out on 191 got some quick wickets of the hosts. England were 62 for 5 at one time but Ollie Pope, Jonny Bairstow, and Chris Woakes helped England gaining a lead of 99 runs. At the end of the day, India batted well with 43 for 0. 

Earlier today England started from 53 for 3. In his first over Umesh Yadav removed night-watchman Craig Overton. Umesh sent Malan back to the pavilion and got his third wicket of the match. It reduced the hosts to 62 for 5. But then, Ollie Pop and Jonny Bairstow put a partnership of 89 runs for the sixth wicket. Mohammad Siraj got the wicket of Bairstow. He scored 37 runs. 

Pope then added few runs with Moeen Ali and took England over 200. At the team score of 222, Ravindra Jadeja got the breakthrough and sent Ali back. The left-handed all-rounder scored 35. In between Ollie Pop completed his half-century. Finally, Shardul Thakur got the big wicket of Pop just before tea. He got out on 81. It was looking that India will wrap the hosts’ innings but Chris Woakes from one played some big shots and took England to 290.

He was the last man to got out by run out just after completing his 50. 

From India, Umesh Yadav stars with 3 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja got 2-2 wickets. Mohammad Siraj and Shardul Thakur got 1-1 wickets each. One wicket of England fell as runout. 

In response, India has started well. The opening pair of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul survived the first hour of the new ball. Though, Rohit Sharma got one life as Ollie Pop dropped his catch in the slips. India ended the day with 43 runs on the board. The visitors are still trailing to England by 56 runs. 

The series is leveled at 1-1. Day three of any test match is called the moving day and it is exactly looking the same here. Indian batsmen have to survive the first few overs as the pitch gets better for the batsmen with time as shown by England batsmen.
