Annu Rani, the Javelin thrower misses to make to the finals, Indian Men Hockey Team Lost The Semis Against Belgium!

I bet almost 95% of the users reading this right now, have played Javelin Throw once in a lifetime, yes, in the childhood on a video game where a set of somewhat Olympic games like hurdle race and more would be available for playing and we would like to immerse in playing them, but amongst 5% people who play Javelin Throw in real, on the ground with a real Javelin Spear is Annu Rani, who is a renowned Javelin Thrower and had participated in the Olympics too, who is a renowned Javelin Thrower and had participated in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 too.  

On the morning of 3rd August, 2021 was organized the qualification round was for women Javelin Throw. There are given three chances for each participant. Qualifying performance of 63.00 (Q) or at least 12 best performers (q) will advance to the final of the women’s javelin throw.

Total 12 participants from groups A and B will make it to the finals. The qualification round of Group A will take place later. Annu Rani was placed in Group B. In her first attempt, Rani registered a throw of 50.35m. After the first attempt, Rani was placed at the ninth spot.

In the second attempt, the 28-year-old registered a throw of 53.19m and by the time everyone was done with their second attempt, Rani slipped to the 14th spot. Annu registered a throw of 54.04m in her third and final throw and she was placed at the 14th spot when the Qualification Group A ended.

Poland’s Maria Andrejczyk registered a throw of 65.24 in her very first attempt and as a result, she gained automatic qualification for the final, and Annu Rani failed to do so.  

Indian Men Hockey Failed To Repeat History And Lost To Belgium In The Semis!

Another sad news coming from Men’s Hockey. Indian team has lost the semi-finals to Belgium by 2-5. India created history by entering into the semi-finals of hockey in the Olympics after four decades. But Men In Blue lost their match against World Champions Belgium. Though the Indian team has a chance to win the bronze medal. 

Many delegates including Prime Minister Narendra Modi motivated the Indian team after the loss. PM posted a tweet congratulating the team for their fabulous display of the game. He said Wins and losses are parts and parcel of life. Pictures of Indian hockey players have gone viral where they can be seen crying.
